36 week update

Along: 36 weeks

Size of baby: LBMH is the size of a watermelon (and he feels like it...) - 19-22 inches long and up to 6.5 pounds. While he's enjoying his warm home, he's also practicing inhaling and exhaling amniotic fluid, blinking and moving side to side.

Total Weight Gain: 25 pounds

Maternity Clothes: The more comfy, the better! I feel like all I want to wear are sweat pants and t-shirts. Not the cutest look, but they sure are more comfortable.

Gender: It's a BOY! Reed Lewis Hill

Movement: I've been noticing his hiccups more lately. At first, I didn't exactly know what they were. I realized that they were very rhythmic and consistent. Sure enough - hiccups! Even Erik got to feel them this week.

What I miss: Being able to sit through the work day in comfort. I switched out my desk chair and brought a small pillow to put behind my back, which helped some. But by about 11 a.m., I'm really hurting. I'm trying to take walks to get water (or to the bathroom) pretty regularly to help out. Only a few more weeks to go, though.

Cravings: Frozen fruit smoothies. Dr. Patterson recommended I try something cold to eat or drink when my heartburn got really bad. The smoothies taste good, are easy to make and have been helping a little bit.

Symptoms: Heartburn, nausea, back pain, sore hips...

Best moment of the week: On Wednesday night, Erik surprised me with the most amazing push present! Check these beauties out...

He picked them out on a Coldwell Banker trip to Austin last week and totally surprised me with them. They are absolutely stunning.

He gave me pearls when we got married, and I wear the earrings all the time. So much so, that I have had to get them repaired several times because I pull the backs off of them. He said these were another option so that I didn't wear my other ones out. :)

I absolutely love them. Not only are they beautiful, but it is incredible that he thought of me and did something totally out of the blue to make me feel special. I am a lucky girl.

Looking forward to: Getting closer to meeting our baby boy. We are within a month of meeting him, and we are getting very, very excited.
