34 week update

Along: 34 weeks

Size of baby: LBMH is the size of a large cantaloupe - 19-22 inches long and up to 5.5 pounds. I'm guessing he's not that big, though, since last week's ultrasound put him at about a pound under that. He might be more around 5 pounds.

Total Weight Gain: 22-23 pounds - I've been having pretty bad nausea and indigestion lately, so I'm not eating all the time. That's probably why my weight is inching up a little slower.

Maternity Clothes: Yes, definitely. I'm wearing maternity pants and dresses to work, but as soon as I get home, I change into Erik's sweatpants and t-shirts. They're just way more comfortable than anything I have - even the maternity clothes.

Gender: It's a BOY! Reed Lewis Hill

Movement: Yes, lots! He's still hanging out in his normal spot (upper left corner) and very active after I eat and when I lay down.

What I miss: Feeling good. I've hit the uncomfortable stage with a vengeance.

Cravings: Still lots of cereal. This week I bought two boxes - one for breakfast and one for nighttime snacks. It's a little out of control.

Symptoms: My heartburn and nausea is still bad, even with the medication. I'm still getting nauseous at night and it's making it hard to want to eat dinner. I have my regular appointment on Wednesday, so I'll see if Dr. Patterson recommends any other solutions. I can tough it out for another six weeks or so, but it's definitely not fun.

Best moment of the week: Taking our first labor and delivery class at the hospital with four great friends. The Wardlaws and Reitmeiers are having boys within a few weeks of us, and we're all taking the class together. Erik and I laughed a lot of the time, and it is just fun to go through this time with such sweet friends. I can't wait for our boys to become good friends, too!

Looking forward to: A few days off of work to finish the nursery with Mom. She's coming down on Sunday, and we're going to get his closet ready and get everything organized. It will be fun to have his room all put together and ready for him.
