I miss her terribly, not just today. It's been one year since she was taken from this world, and the world is not the same.
Elizabeth Anne, who I knew most of my life as Baby, taught me some very important lessons in her 22 years. She taught me to love everyone, unconditionally, no matter who they are or what they look like. She taught me to sleep peacefully with someone who kicks. She taught me to embrace all things pink - even hair. She taught me to laugh at myself.
Above all else, she taught me to live life to the fullest, no matter the circumstances.
After she died, I remembered a benediction that the late Paster Kyle Lake would recite each week as he finished his services at University Baptist Church.
"Love God, embrace beauty and live life to the fullest."
Elizabeth embodied that benediction during her very short life.
My heart will never be the same, but I try every day to make her proud and love others like she did.
