Gender reveal party

Now that we know that LBMH is a boy, we wanted to tell our families all together. My mom planned a gender reveal party at their house, and we were able to have everyone together to celebrate in one place.

The day before, right after the sonogram, I called What About Cupcakes? in Waco and asked them to fill the cupcakes that I pre-ordered with blue icing. Erik picked them up, and we took them to Richardson for the big surprise.

Grandma's pretty table with pink and blue flowers, your picture and cupcakes!

It was so great to have everyone there together - my parents, Erik's mom and Mike, Andy, Erin, the kids, my Uncle Bill and my brother and his wife. It's rare to get everyone in one place, so it was extra special. Everyone put in their guesses as soon as they got there.

The guesses were marked on "boy" and "girl" chalkboards.

Then, before the cupcakes, Mom asked me quiz questions of old wives' tales to predict the gender. My answers came out to 6-girl and 5-boy. Hmmmm...

Taking the quiz.

It was time to let the secret out... Everyone tore into their cupcakes to find it was a BOY!

It was so much fun to see their reactions and love Reed from the very beginning. And, of course, he was showered with gifts.

Grandma and Grandpa got him this sweet sleeper.

Grandmama and Grand-Mike brought him this blanket that Erik's grandmother made.

Uncle Andy, Aunt Erin and his cousins - Alek, Kyle and Katelyn, got him this sweet onesie and a camo taggie. Perfect for another boy!

Opening gifts with Cousin Alek.

The cousins also made this sweet frame for Reed with their handprints and names. What a sweet gift that he'll love to see one day.

So excited to be cousins!

Uncle Bill also set the betting pool on Reed's height and weight. We're starting at 7 pounds, 3 ounces and 19 1/2 inches. I'd be happy with those numbers...

We had such a great time celebrating Reed Lewis Hill with our two families. This baby already is very, very loved!
