Richardson shower

It is a totally overwhelming feeling to have a room full of people you love share such love and generosity toward your child. Our first baby shower was hosted by dear family friends who have known me most of my life, and the guests were people who I grew up with in our neighborhood and at our church. It was such a memorable day.

Here are three of the four hostesses: Anita Owen, Lynn Sepulvado and Barb Danielson.

All of the details were so cute! This diaper cake used fabric from his nursery to tie in all of the colors.

This is the fourth hostess, Melanie Talkington. She is the genius behind the camo whoopie pies and owl cookies.

The adorable owl cookies.

How amazing are these camo whoopie pies?!?

Our niece, Katelyn, was such a great helper. She brought me gifts, helped me unwrap them and then promptly put them back in the bag to put on display. A future hostess in the making, for sure!

I was so surprised to get Reed's "anywhere chair" from his Grandma and GeeGee. It will be perfect for his room and big enough for him to use for years to come.

Here's a closer look, along with "Bear Bear." Bear Bear was Uncle Blake's bear when he was growing up. Reed will appreciate having him on loan for a bit.

My other momma, Barbara. I was so glad to share this time with her! I love her so much.

The guests all brought books to build a library at Grandma's house. There were so many great books - I was a little sad some didn't come to our house.

Not to be forgotten, Reed's daddy got a survival kit to help him through the first few weeks of fatherhood. What a cute idea and perfect for E!

This was just the first of many celebrations for our little boy. What a blessing to be surrounding by this much love!
