Reed is 2 months!

Stats: At his two month appointment, Reed weighed 11 pounds (30th percentile) and was 23 inches long (75th percentile). His head circumference was 15.75 inches (30th percentile). Still long and lean!

Milestones: Just when you think you're too exhausted to think straight, he smiles at you! Reed started smiling around 5 weeks, and it is seriously adorable.

He's also "talking" now - cooing all the time. At first, I thought he was getting ready to cry, but it was just him finding his voice. Little man loves to coo!

Behavior: Reed is such an easy baby - very laid back, just like his daddy. He's especially happy in the morning after he eats. That's when he's most smiley. Could he be a morning person? Proof there is a bit of his momma in him...

Sleep: Again, no complaints here. Reed slept "through the night" (11 p.m. to 6 a.m.) at 6 weeks! It's amazing how much happier everyone is with more than a few hours sleep at a time. We're hoping he keeps this up and lets us get a little more rest. Thanks, Reed!

Clothes: Most of this month, he was still wearing his newborn clothes and diapers. Not that he really could fit in them the entire month, but mostly because Momma is crazy and can't let go... By week 8, we moved him up to 0-3 month clothes and size 1 diapers.

This little Polo outfit is one of my absolute favorites. He just looks like such a little man in it!

I also love this sweet onesie. It was Erik's when he was a baby. I love thinking of Erik being this tiny. Those two really are two peas in a pod.

Food: This month, we were able to drop his two overnight feedings at 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. (See the "sleep" section above. Hallelujah!) He's still getting about two-thirds breast milk (pumped, in a bottle) and supplemented with formula. He gets seven feedings a day at 4-5 ounces each.

Likes: Reed loves his monkey bouncer, singing (His favorite songs are "That Good Old Baylor Line" and "The Eyes of Texas." Guess who sings those?), sleeping, milk, bathtime (only with warm water), mornings and tummy time on Daddy.

Dislikes: Reed is not a fan of being dirty or cold (like Momma). He also isn't a huge fan of tummy time on his play mat yet.

Favorite Moments: This month, Reed had a chance to meet a lot of friends and family. We are so blessed to have such amazing people love on our little guy. He's going to grow up with lots of fun around him!

Uncle Blake loves his first nephew. These two are good buds.

Cousins! Reed met Katelyn last month, but he also got to meet his boy cousins, Kyle and Alek this month. It is so sweet to see them together. They are going to make lots of memories growing up together.

Liam Reitmeier is one of Reed's best buddies. They especially like to check out ceiling fans together. Liam's daddy and Reed's daddy were in KOT together, and our families have tailgated together for years.

Reed and Jackson Moody, hanging out at church. The Moodys are in our Sunday school class, small group and tailgate. Their mommies were in Alpha Chi together at Baylor and their daddies like doing adventurous things together like SCUBA, mountain biking and hunting. It won't be long before those boys get to go on the adventures, too!

Aunt "P" came to visit, too. Rach has been such an encouragement to me through so many seasons of life, but especially during my pregnancy and the first weeks of Reed's life. We love her!

Most Challenging: Our schedule has been the biggest challenge for us (Reed and Momma) so far. It's difficult to coordinate pumping, eating, washing bottles/pump parts, etc. Some days it feels like one big juggling act. Luckily, Reed is a laid-back baby, and he's pretty patient with me.

I also go back to work soon, and I know that will be difficult. He will be going to our church for daycare, and we have several friends who have their babies there. It's a great place with lots of caring teachers to love on him during the day. It will be hard no matter what, but at least we're taking him to our church home, which already feels comfortable.

Looking Forward To: Dropping that last night feeding (11 p.m.) will be a huge help. That will give us time to take care of chores and other things before we go to bed, without our little "helper." It also will be nice when he can hold his head up. He's still pretty floppy, and we have to constantly be careful to not hurt his neck or bump his head. I hate wishing the little thing away, though. I keep reminding myself that I'm going to miss this time, even the struggles and difficulties.

Here are a few more of my favorite photos from this month:

Reed sleeping in his cradle. His Grandpa, great uncle, Momma, Uncle Blake and all of Momma's cousins slept in this cradle when they were first born. Erik refinished it and it's just like new for little Reed. He sleeps overnight in his crib, but this is a great place for him to nap during the day.

First Sunday at church, April 23.

Right after his shots at his two month appointment. The nurse had to pin his legs down and Momma held his arms to get the job done. Poor baby! There was a little crying, but overall, he was a brave boy.

And finally, Reed and his puppy brother - just chillin.

Amanda this is so great you are doing this ... Do you have a baby book going too? Trust me, you'll forget 'the details' as each month goes on, and you will LOVE that you have this documented. Hope to see ya'll again real soon!

Thanks, sweet friend! I have to confess... a lot of my posts are back-dated. It's so hard to find time to blog with a baby. But, I know I'll be glad I have it later.

We miss you guys! Come back so Cooper and Reed can play again soon. :)
