Reed and I were really excited to celebrate our favorite daddy, Erik, on his first Father's Day. Throughout the past seven weeks (and through the whole pregnancy, actually), Erik has been my rock and support. He always seems to know what to say and do to make even the most frustrating - or sleep-deprived - situation better.
And, oh, how his baby adores him! Daddy has a calming presence for Reed. No matter how upset Reed may be, Erik can calm him instantly. They just get each other. It makes sense - they are so alike.
To celebrate his first Father's Day, Reed and I wanted to do something special and memorable. So, we decided to put together a scavenger hunt. Ok, so Momma actually put together the hunt, but Reed took Daddy from clue to clue and helped him get to his big gift at the end.
Here are some pictures of Erik and Reed on their hunt:
Starting the hunt... These are a few of your favorite things!
Little gift #1 - Daddy's favorite snacks (Hot Tamales, Reese's, Smarties, beef jerky)
Little gift #2: A lantern for camping and playing outside
Little gift #3: A picture of Momma and Reed for Daddy's office
Little gift #4: Golf tees
And finally, Daddy's big gift...
A new chop saw! Reed and Momma don't really know what this is or what it does, but Daddy sure seemed excited...
Erik, we are so lucky to have you as the leader of our family. You are selfless, helpful, loyal and loving. I am proud to watch you care for and love on your son. It is so obvious that he means the world to you. Thank you for being the best daddy.
We love you. Happy first Father's Day!
