Reed is 4 months!

Stats: At his 4 month appointment, Reed was 14 pounds, 12 ounces (45th percentile) and 26 inches long (80th percentile). His head is 16-1/2 inches around (40th percentile). Dr. Myers says he's a happy, healthy little boy!

Milestones: This month has been FULL of milestones! Reed found his hands and feet, holds his head up (although not perfectly yet), reaches for toys, shakes a rattle, sucks his thumb and LAUGHS! His laugh is, by far, the sweetest sound. He is such a happy guy and interacts by giving you a big grin or belly laugh. In the most difficult times, it really makes a huge difference.

He's getting pretty close to rolling over, too. He'll get almost all the way from his back to his tummy, but those darn arms get in the way. It will probably be his next milestone, though.

Behavior: Reed is still a great baby. We can - and do - take him just about everywhere with us, and we rarely have a problem. As long as we have the right equipment with us (i.e. milk and diapers), he just goes with the flow. We are really fortunate.

Sleep: He's still sleeping like a champ - two solid naps during the day and about 8-9 hours a night.

Clothes: I did move him up to 3-6 month clothes this month. It's not that he needs the room in the belly, but none of the 0-3 month clothes are long enough for him. He even has a 9 month sleeper that he wears sometimes - it's the perfect length. :(

We're still in size 1 diapers, but he'll move up to 2s as soon as we finish up the 1s we have. It's well past time!

Food: He's still about half and half on milk and formula. He's eating about 4-5 ounces in each bottle, with six bottles a day and getting hungrier as we go.

Likes: He's loving his monkey bouncer now - even more than his swing. He started playing with the toys and has figured out that if he pulls the banana that it lights up and makes noise. Fun! He's showing a lot more interest in toys in general, and he loves his O ball with the rainstick. It makes cool noises and is easy for him to grab.

Dislikes: He really just dislikes being hungry. If he's fed and clean, the boy is good to go!

Favorite Moments: We've had so much fun with our Little Man this month. From a trip to the zoo to a date night for Momma and Daddy's 4th anniversary, life for the Hills is pretty great right now.

A trip to the farmers market with Liam and Cara - and their mommas and daddies.

Cara really liked eating Reed's hair...

Reed's first trip to the Cameron Park Zoo during VBS week at church. It was hot, but we had fun with our friends!

Happy 4th anniversary, Momma and Daddy! We celebrated with a dinner out while Gma and Big Pops watched Reed.

Most Challenging: We're starting to get into a pretty good routine, so things really are getting pretty easy (for now). Our biggest challenge is getting everyone dressed, fed, supplied and on time to wherever we need to be. Then again, that's always been a Hill challenge...

Looking Forward To: Reed's first Baylor game! Football season is just around the corner, and we can't wait to introduce Reed to all of the Baylor traditions that we love so much. (I totally understand how kids end up "brainwashed" by the time they turn 18.) We can't wait!

Here are a few things we've been up to this month:

Gma and Big Pops sold the house that Momma grew up in. Reed got to visit before they moved to the other side of Richardson.

He's getting close to rolling over! If only that arm would get out of the way...

He's holding his head up like a champ, though!

Momma went with Reed to his 4 month appointment. He was even brave during his two shots. Good boy!

And, of course, he still loves his puppy brother.
