Along: 27 weeks
Size of baby: LBMH is the size of a head of broccoli - 16 inches long and 2.5 pounds. This week he is able to blink, cough and suck. His lungs also are developing. In theory, he could be born at this point and do fine outside of the womb. (Don't get any ideas, little man, Daddy says you're still "doughy.")
Total Weight Gain: 18-19 pounds
Maternity Clothes: Yes, definitely. I've officially graduated from small t-shirts. And, as soon as I hit the door, I immediately change into sweats and tees. They're just way more comfortable!
Gender: It's a BOY! Reed Lewis Hill
Movement: I can feel him move, but it's pretty sporadic and hard to predict. I'm hoping to feel him more consistently soon.
What I miss: I miss being able to go at full speed like I used to. I traveled to a conference this week in Nashville, and I really noticed that meetings took more out of me. We got started early, and by dinner, I was totally exhausted. I tried to go at my normal pace and just took a beating.
Cravings: Lemon-flavored anything. This week it was a lemon bar and a lemon poppyseed muffin in a 24-hour window. I mean, I like lemon, but that was a little weird.
Symptoms: My back pain is much better - thank goodness. This week, I just noticed that I got tired more easily, and I've noticed some swelling in my feet. (It could be that I braved long conference days in heels, but that's because I'm a glutton for punishment.)
Best moment of the week: Dinner with my college roommate, Vicky, and her sweet daughter, Marilyn. It was so great to catch up with her and definitely beat grabbing food at the hotel. I just loved getting to spend time with them.
Looking forward to: Getting Reed's nursery all set up! Mom is coming to Waco this weekend, and we are going to get his bedding and curtains up. I promise I'll post pictures once it's closer to being done. I love how it's coming together!
