A day with Reed's cousins

The day after Christmas, Erik and I took our niece and two nephews for a day at the Dallas World Aquarium. Since we live two hours south, we don't get to see them as much as we'd like, so we thought this would be a fun way to make some memories and spend some quality time with them.

We saw so many cool fish, sharks, penguins, birds, monkeys, bugs and more. The kids had fun looking at the different exhibits and teaching us all about what we saw.

To add to our adventure, we had a super healthy lunch of pizza, hot dogs, nachos and blue slushies all around. (Sorry, Erin, for wiring your kids up before bringing them home to you...) And they each got to pick out a gift from the gift shop at the end. (So long as they followed Erik's three rules: 1) no whining, 2) no crying and 3) have fun.)

Here's a photo dump from our day:

Ready to start our day!
Checking out the sea anemones

Sharks!
Kyle loved the sharks
Watching the penguins

Sitting down for our nutritious lunch
Ready to go home, toys in hand
Happy girl with her jaguar

And knocked out soon after

We love these kids so much! Selfishly, this day was just as much for us as it was for them. We had such a great time with them - learning with them, being silly and laughing all day.

Next year, it may be more difficult to take them for a day with just us. (Unless Aunt Erin and Uncle Andy want to take on a baby...) But, we hope to have lots more opportunities to go places with these three. They really are so much fun!
